Old Spaghetti Factory: (New Westminster)

The Old Spaghetti Factory has been a favorite of mine for many years. It’s easy to see why this restaurant has been so popular over the years. The all-inclusive menu offers tempting options, including an appetizer and dessert. This chain has fallen apart over the years.

The “sameness factor” is probably the most important thing that draws people to this place. You know exactly what you get when you come in. Although their menu is not often updated, they do offer Beyond Meat options. My meal began with a Spinach Salad, which is a small charge to the meal price.

Next, I moved on to my main course of Spaghetti with Browned Butter & Mizithra cheese and added Meatballs. This dish is a salty cheese that is gratted over the spaghetti, then drizzled with browned Butter. Overall, the dish was bland and dry. I also didn’t smell any browned butter. I think it was a good thing that I added the side dish of meatballs, as the sauce from my meatballs helped a bit.

Spumoni was the final course of the meal and it was the best part of the meal. Although it isn’t like traditional spumoni, which contains candied fruits, I do enjoy theirs.

One thing I noticed on my most recent visit was that there weren’t any saucers for the tea cups. This created a mess when I tried to pour the tea. Service was slow, but we have come to expect it considering how busy they seem to get and how few servers they have. I miss the bread they used to offer.

  • They can accommodate large groups and the prices are reasonable. Most of the pasta dishes are good.
  • We’re going mexican food factory school, and reminding everyone about The Old Spaghetti Factory downtown Toronto.
  • It is a wonderful place, filled with Toronto history and antique treasures. It’s perfect for a family dinner, a casual get-together or a romantic date night.
  • Nicholas sat with us and explained the history of the restaurant as well as the best dishes.
  • Pay attention to the names of your dishes as they are often sold out quickly. You also need to be able to recall what you should ask for.
